BUFFALO TO BIG SKY
The end of summer led me to a week of friendship and nature travel. From Buffalo, Wyoming to Big Sky, Montana my soul and spirit rode the cosmic energy of the Milky Way!
John Muir's words came to mind during my travels. His writing connects with me. In his well known story, "Wind Storm in the Forest," he pens:
"We all travel the Milky Way together, trees and men; but it never occurred to me until this storm-day, while swinging in the wind, that trees are travelers, in the ordinary sense. They make many journeys, not extensive ones, it is true; but our own little journeys, away and back again, are only little more than tree-wavings - many of them not so much."
Muir's thoughts on movement and travel were present in my thoughts as I traveled the West; Buffalo to Big Sky, his words were present not only only the highway's long distances, but also in my hikes among the creeks and trees, my journey to the art studio, and the growing of my friendships.
As a working artist/retired art educator, I've always lived the artful life. Let's share!
