Another mighty Montana trip—Ruby River, Virginia City, Ennis and Benjies, Madison River, West Yellowstone, and Yellowstone Park. Finished our last day floating the Yellowstone River with good friends. Summer should never end!
"art is not a job; it is a life. It is what you do when you get up in the morning, and what you continue to do all day, through headaches and phone calls, breakups and breakdowns, silences and celebrations. It is what you keep doing after dark, and when you can't sleep at night...”
– Holland Cotter reviewing Louise Bourgeois' monumental 2007-2008 traveling retrospective during its stop at the Guggenheim Museum in the New York Times.
Excellent Elegant Extraordinaire Cookbook!
My first two baked recipes from this wonderful book. Locally sourced food written by a locally sourced wonderful woman, Stella Fong. It is as fun to read as it is to cook from. Some of the ceramic pieces Food is featured in are from my favorite potters, Nancy Halter and Greg Jahn.
There is nothing like summer in Montana...We’ve been trailer camping, canoeing, hiking, art making, Flathead cherry picking, golfing, fly fishing, relaxing and living the good life. Starting at Georgetown Lake we drove west and have stayed at Lindbergh lake, Swan Lake, and the Blackfoot River Recreation Corridor.
It has been FORTY years since I lived here and taught at Sealy Swan High School. I had the honor of establishing the art department at the school. My memories of this time are special.
As a working artist/retired art educator, I've always lived the artful life. Let's share!
