"We make our way through
The spiritual spa
For several years, Billings First Congregational Church has hosted a Women’s Christmas Spa for the Spirit Retreat on the Saturday closest to January 6, which this year is Saturday, January 8. It is a Sabbath, or day of rest, a holy day, a day at the beginning of the New Year to set your course for the New Year. This year’s theme is “Praying the Labyrinth,” and will take place in the church’s Fellowship Hall on the lower level, on and around the Labyrinth, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To register: https://billingsfirstchurch.breezechms.com/form/retreat2022
Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. to allow for exploration of the church’s beautiful 11-circuit Chartres Labyrinth and for settling in. We will begin at 10:00 a.m.
It was a day we’ll spent.
“ I’ve long believed it’s a worthy act of attention to turn our gaze inward. Not only to tune in to those things that might need tending, but to deliberately seek out the beauty we wish to carry in our heart. To do so is an act of love. Don’t you think? I’m referring to gathering the experiences of beauty that light up our entire being. They can happen in countless ways and unexpected places — we might feel a subtle shift, hear a wordless message or sense a stirring of emotion. We let the moment imprint itself in our memory, in our body. Each time this happens, I believe we are creating an inner refuge of strength that will be there for us, no matter what.”
