In 2005, just as mom's dementia was making its unwelcome appearance, she and my stepdad Glen picked, cleaned and made juice out of several pounds of local chokecherries. Careful packaging and sealing kept the juice well frozen for ten years in the deep freeze. Mom passed June 2014. My auntie got the juice from Glen, and I picked it up and transported it to Denver in a cooler so my cousin and I could make syrup from it. We carried on the kitchen canning torch for mom! We began our foray with a new recipe--a fresh cucumber/cilantro Gin&Tonic! --
we are foodies, of course!
Cheers, Mom! Love and miss you always.
